So my R56 has developed this really annoying clunk whenever I go over speed bumps or hit even the smallest pothole, and it’s getting worse by the day. At first I thought it was just the typical Mini suspension noise but now it feels loose and honestly it’s starting to worry me a bit. Took it to a shop in Al Quoz and they said the bushings are completely shot, which I guess makes sense considering how the car handles these streets. They quoted me for replacing the whole control arms but I’ve read on a few forums that sometimes you can just do the bushings themselves if you find a place that knows what they’re doing. I came across a page about mini cooper suspension bushing replacement dubai that mentioned using polyurethane ones which supposedly last longer in this heat, but I’m not sure if that changes the ride quality too much. Has anyone here gone that route or is it better to just bite the bullet and replace the whole arms? Trying to figure out what makes sense without spending a fortune.
